Logan Center Community Arts (LCCA) is committed to the values of excellence, collaboration, and inclusion. Our mission is to create, present, and collaborate through partnerships to cultivate community engagement through the arts at The University of Chicago.

LOGAN CENTER COMMUNITY ARTS

    • Provide Access: To create diverse opportunities for engagement with the Logan Center and its programs by offering resources for partnership with our communities to realize innovative artistic experiences.

    • Create Artistic Platforms: To present and amplify the work of local, national and international artists to build stronger connections with our neighbors and to inspire creativity in the next generation.

    • Encourage Exchange: To build on a spirit of inquiry and experimentation alive at the University of Chicago in a manner that creatively involves communities and encourages audiences of all ages to inform the ways in which the Logan Center’s programs take shape.

    • Create Sustainable Partnerships: To foster an environment of collaboration between organizations across campus, the community, and the city of Chicago that fully incorporate the vibrant culture of the South Side.

  • We establish programs that systematically bring community-driven content into our space through mutually beneficial and respectful partnerships. We nurture creative connections and innovative scholarship between cultural organizations, artists, and community members along with university, faculty, staff and students. We prioritize artistic and cultural engagement which inspires creativity in the next generation.

  • The South Side of Chicago is one of the single most important sites of cultural production in the United States. A university cannot thrive with closed doors. Any intellectual environment should be a dynamic one. Partnership is mutually beneficial. We are invested in cultural, intellectual, and economic partnerships.

    • South Side artists, scholars and community members

    • Youth and Families

    • University students, faculty, and staff

    • Local businesses and non-profits

    • Local Schools

    • Civically-engaged arts & culture audiences across the city
