Will Cabaniss

Will Cabaniss is a composer and producer of genre-fluid music. His work is driven by human voices and technology, refracting choral and contemporary singing traditions through digital manipulation and the politics of liberation. Connecting his own voice to the voices of others, Cabaniss explores community and intimacy amid technology and imagines a future beyond capitalism.

He is an active member of the contemporary vocal music community, where he has pioneered a collaborative approach to composing for tight-knit ensembles that have yielded new, award-winning original music. In addition to composing, arranging, and producing, he is a sound designer, teacher, and singer. He was born in New York City in 1995 and graduated from the University of Chicago in 2018, where he was a member of Voices in Your Head from 2014-2018 and the group’s music director from 2016-2018.
